Early Years
Born Frederick Gallardo in Chicago, IL, Fred attended the Loras Academy, served in the Marine Corps, then settled in Southern California in his early years.
Husband
In 1956 Fred married Nita and their marriage would survive until his death. He celebrated with Nita their 50th anniversary with family in Rancho Mirage, CA.
Father
Fred had three children, Patricia, David, and Gregory. He liked to talk to them about many things, and share through letters, phone calls, and get togethers.
Work
Fred worked for Pacific Telephone, North American Aviation, and the University of California, which he retired from, thus, enabling him to be a motivator for others.
Travel
During his retirement years, Fred traveled mostly, enjoying train travel throughout the USA, also, experiencing Baja, California, the Philippines, and Hawaii.
Hobbies
Fred retired early and pursued many hobbies including: boating, coaching and competing in track and field, golfing/marshaling, land development, traveling.
Last Chapter
Suffering with the diagnosis of multiple myeloma cancer, Fred would spend his last days with his wife, Nita, dying on November 12, 2010.
Family
Fred is of Filipino and Polish ancestry, and coincidentally, Nita is of Filipino and Polish ancestry. Fred made several trips to the Philippines.
