Fred married Juanita (Nita) at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Ana, California on November 24, 1956.
Fred was the breadwinner of the family and although he endured long commutes to work, he still found the time to pursue many house projects at all the family's residences. In the Santa Ana house he planted trees that would still survive to this day, and built Asian themed garden structures. In the Costa Mesa house he constructed an office/playroom above the garage with stairs leading up to this area, and grew a vegetable garden in the backyard. In the Thousand Oaks house, he installed the landscaping, patio, and alley, all by himself. The family would never have a gardener or lawn service taking care of their yard. All of this, so Nita would not have to do the work herself or hire help.
Fred and Nita's marriage would survive until his death (just short of 54 years), and he would live long enough to celebrate with Nita their 50th Anniversary in 2006. Arranged by his daughter, Patricia, there was a small celebration in Rancho Mirage, California with his three children, daughter-in-law (Katherine), and three of his grandchildren, Elliot (son of David and Kathryn), Nicole (daughter of Patricia and James), and Aaron (son of Gregory and Raynor) present. It was a special moment as the family of five was rarely able to get together anymore.
At this time Fred had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
