Fred had three children, Patricia, David, and Gregory, born in 1958, 1961, and 1962, respectively. As a family they lived in the California locations of Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, Thousand Oaks, Daly City, and Riverside. Fred liked to talk to his children about work, finances, and just about anything. He wasn’t shy about speaking his opinion. Other people would say his children were lucky to have a father that cared enough and was able to be authoritative.
As parents will be parents, and children will be children, it wasn't always easy to keep the connection between the generations. But, with Fred's skills and the efforts of the children to attain a certain maturity, Fred, with the help of Nita, was able to sustain a relationship with all of his children, partaking in get togethers and sharing through letters and phone calls with them, until the end of his life.
At this writing, all three children enjoy a status of financial independence. Patricia is proud of her all-college-grad family and likes to work with memorabilia; David has taken over the duties of Fred for Nita, doing the challenging job of keeping Nita company as she matures, and Gregory, a talented artist, has much time for that upon his retirement from UC Irvine.
