Celebrating 80 years of life
Fred spent his last years living in the Palm Springs and San Diego areas of California with his wife, Nita. Nearby lived his son, David, brother, Edward (Ed), and other extended family members. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer in 2009.
During his last hospital stay, daughter, Patricia, traveling a distance, would spend a long day with her Dad, and say her last words to him. Son, David, would arrange for a priest to administer his Dad’s Last Rites, which despite Fred’s feeble state at this point, he was still able to show that he was aware of what was happening. He died on November 12, 2010, in hospice. He was 80 years old.
In the aftermath of much paperwork that needed to be processed, son, Gregory and his wife, Katherine, and Fred's brother, Edward, were instrumental in assisting Juanita in this task.
